A twenty four (24) year old Ansu Banbami Samba of Pujehun district in Sierra Leone has committed suicide after his wife Katimu announced that she was calling it quit off, on Sunday.
In a video distributed on social media, Ansu was shown with a knife in his stomach and proclaiming love for his wife. He was traditionally married to Katimu and they were living together.Ansu declared that he will only live if his wife was asked to stay with him. Ansu lost consciousness and was feared dead for a few minutes due to shock and loss of blood.
According to my sources who are close relatives of Ansu and police contacts, Ansu was rushed to the hospital where emergency operation was performed and he is slowly responding to treatment.
Due to his behavior, the police has placed him on suicide watch and monitoring his treatment and compliance to treatment.
